Islamic Studies

We teach the foundational aspects of Islam by covering the Pillars (Islam, Iman and Ihsan), aspects of the Prophet’s (Pbuh) life (Seerah), Fiqh, Adhaab & Akhlaq, History, Hadith, and more. Though the subject of Islamic studies could be classed as ‘traditional’, we teach in a modern style that the children can relate to by engaging our students by encouraging interaction, questioning and making it relevant within a British Muslim context.

Within the classroom, we tailor each lesson to meet the needs of the class and the individual with teachers working with teaching assistants to provide full support where needed.

Each class covers different subjects by starting at a basic level of understanding progressing to an in-depth Islamic Education. At the end of the learning year, students will have a deeper learning and understanding about the Islamic way of life.

The books we use are an established curriculum as part of a series called "I Love Islam".

Developed in the US it is specifically designed for Islamic Schools with over 400 schools using the books. Each of the books is split into lessons and there is also a supplementary workbook with questions / activities to engage the children and develop their understanding of the subject.

Each book is designed to run for the entire school year. Click on the cover for each book to link to the publisher from where a preview of the book can be viewed.

As well as using these books, our teachers will also supplement lessons with other material depending on the class being taught.

Our Senior classes cover also use these textbooks as well as supplementary materials. For example the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) is currently being studied in detail using the book: Muhammad The Last Prophet: A Model for all Times by Sayyed Abul Hassan Ali Nadwi.
